Built as part of a renovation project, this stunning pool in the backyard of a Nedlands home took around five months to complete.
Installed by Barrier Reef Pools, it has a central entry system, a beautiful water blade water feature and a spa, which is perfectly set up so the homeowner can relax and enjoy Western Australia’s excellent summer weather. Barrier Reef Pools Owner Bradley Hilbert said the look of the overall area was stunning.
“It is a simple yet classy pool with square lines that won’t date and will still look great for many years to come,” he said.
The main pool is 10.5m long and 4.4m wide, with a cut-out section on either side – one to allow entry steps and the other to incorporate the water feature.
Lit up by a water blade that cascades out from Hamptons-style wall cladding and filters down onto a sunbed made from mosaic tiles, the water feature is a sight to behold.
“It creates a central feature for the pool and hides the pool filtration,” Mr Hilbert said.
Frangipanis frame the feature on either side and, along with other surrounding foliage, create a relaxing atmosphere that resonates through the entire pool space, according to Mr Hilbert.
Alongside the main pool is a 3.8m by 1.6m spa that Mr Hilbert said was a distinct aspect of the design.
“Connected at the shallow end, the spa is the same width as the lane on the pool,” he said. “Although the spa is separate from the pool it has been connected using balance lines (pipes allowing water flow between the two).”
Overlooked by a large alfresco area, the pool is connected to the main entertaining space through paths cut into the grass. Two gates have been integrated into the fencing, which creates a symmetrical visage and completes the overall look perfectly.
